Did you know that there are thousands of articles published each year advising people that they must get off their lazy butt and put a stop to watching so much TV? There are others who spend an inordinate amount of their spare time playing video games. There is so much valuable time being wasted every day because we are caught up doing this very same thing.
I believe that we can use our time more effectively if we just choose to go out and do something interesting with our lives. It’s not too late to do so, and don’t let others tell you differently. Finally deciding to go after your goals is something that each of us wants to do whether we want to admit to it or not. We can do it, all it takes is ‘true honesty with ourselves’.
I know about this myself, as I have read many of these self-helping articles and it’s uplifting. It also has started me to thinking about life in a different perspective. And once you do delve into reading this kind of inspirational material, it will motivate you to want to do something with your life.
I’m sure that many of you have had these moments yourselves where you woke up and said I’m following through on something for me. And once you began, an obstacle came up and you had to put it on hold once again. The reasons for not doing so are endless, but you know the real deal.
However, when you take a closer look at the many times that we made pledges to complete a task, too many times it is nothing but empty promises that just don’t get completed. This shortcoming of so many of us has to change if you truly pursue something that matters to you.
In electing to start writing these blogs, which I call the ‘my personal wisdom tips of life’, I wanted to do something special and not just talk. I’m trying to break out of that bad habit of making promises but I never get things done.
At this point, talk is cheap and it hurts but it’s true. To many of us that are in the same situation, it’s time for us to step up to the plate. One afternoon after months of being laid off from work, I came to the conclusion that I needed to do something to contribute in some way to help others.
In taking this approach to finally doing something meaningful with my life, I hope that somebody would benefit from some of the knowledge that I’m sharing in these articles. My life has been filled with a long list of disappointments. Some were my fault and at other times it wasn’t. However, I have also been through some wonderful positive experiences that I enjoyed. By me electing to share these events, the good and the bad, hopefully, they will encourage others that the world is not over when tough things happen to you.
In sharing these personal experiences, I’m convinced that someone will benefit from what I have been through and it will serve as a blueprint on how to overcome your difficulties. It will also highlight some great experiences that you can expect to receive if you decide to follow in these same footsteps.
It was through some of my most difficult challenges in life that I learned how not to quit when things didn’t go my way. At first glance, I wanted to give up but by being honest with myself I kept on pushing forward pursuing my goals and it helped me tremendously. As I look back today I’m proud and consider myself blessed that I have overcome those issues.
It is my intention that after reading these articles, these insightful topics hopefully will reach those of you who want to hear some good and helpful tips about life. I had many issues of life that were not easy to handle by a long shot, and you will have some yourselves. However, it isn’t something too difficult where you can’t succeed if you are willing to fight through these moments. Learning to learn from others who have gone through similar situations in their life, that is, in my opinion, is always a good starting point.
One of the first challenges is our overall health. I have learned that our personal health is a bigger issue, as we start to age faster than we had anticipated. For the most part, we don’t consider our health as being a major issue unless we have a problem. This type of thinking, regarding our health, has to change if we want to be around for the future. It’s very important topic and I hope that you focus on it more.
Secondly, our personal finances are constantly a topic of uncertainty, whether we want to admit it or not. Most of us, our funds are dwindling and the people who we could count on in the past, they are doing worse than us. This is a reality that we don’t want to deal with, but we must as these types of financial crisis situations are popping up every day somewhere in our circle of family and friends.
If you are in the category of being middle-aged, ( over 50 years old) or older, there is a good chance that you know exactly what I am talking about. Our funds are for our upcoming retirement is far behind what it should be and it hurts us badly but we still refuse to look at ourselves in the mirror. I
No matter what, we need to know that we are stronger than we may think we are. You can make it when you apply all your good skills. Some great person once said, the best way to start, is to take that first step forward. If you need help, I’ll try to do my best to help you get started but you have to be ready to move, as many of us will be going on this journey sooner than later.
Hence, you better get mentally prepared, as this new age of living having fewer resources than we had in the past will eventually come your way. I’m not wishing this on you, but I’m trying to alert you to these circumstances so you won’t be shocked. You will not be the only one that is going through this phase of your life, there were a lot of people before you, and there will be plenty of others, after you.
The theme in these articles will be mostly about you and how you have to adjust accordingly in order to stay relevant in today’s complex world. You can’t be afraid of changes, as I was myself for a long time. Surround yourselves with others who are doing something positive with their lives for starters. If you are honest with yourselves these types of people will notice and they will help you in some way because they did it for me.
This approach worked very well for me, and you can do the same. In being honest with yourself, you have to be willing to get out of the lazy boy chair, cut down on that time playing those video games and begin to take some positive steps to move forward in life. I’m sure that you will look back one day and be very proud of yourselves for doing so and that is when this article will be appreciated.
